Unlike blood that is “pumped” through the blood system by heart, the lymph relies on movement of the body to flow. Therefore, a patient suffering from lymphedema needs to take action and start with exercises because it is the only way to keep the lymphatic system going.

Depending on how far the lymphedema developed, there might be different exercises to be recommended. However, walking as well as swimming and rebounding will always take some prominence in executing of lymphedema exercises.
