Who is working to help people with lymphedema? The non-profit organization is called the Lymphatic Research Foundation. Their aim and mission is not only to advance research of the lymphatic system but also to find out the cause of and cure for all lymphatic diseases and not only for lymphedema.

Because the lymphatic system is critical to the wellness of all humans Scientific research in this area is very important. Let’s hope that the research is going to discover how to prevent the desease and to develop further therapeutic treatments. Why is lymp so important in a life of a human being, you may ask. Lymp is an integral part of the immune system. Therefore it is vital to the body’s look-out management against cancer. At the same time the lymphatic system (systema lymphaticum) is able to show pathways for cancer to metastasize.
