Save Patients, Support Breast Cancer Awareness Organizations
By David L. Felts
Despite the enormous changes brought by technological advantages and hundreds of medical breakthroughs, cancer still remains a scourge that has yet to be resolved. Thousands of women are still dying every month because of breast cancer, ultimately amounting to more than a million each year in the United States alone. The international community is not sleeping on the issue, but it is to complex to be resolved instantaneously.
To help women combat this dreadful illness, few organizations are established locally and internationally with the aim to help millions of women all over the world understand the severity of the ailment. The National Breast Cancer Coalition (NBCC) is a renowned organization dedicated to helping researchers and scientists alike to conduct further studies of the disease and finally give it an end. NBCC is composed of other organizations and members whose ultimate purpose coincides with that of the mother organization.
How will you include yourself to cancer awareness organizations and extend your help? Actually, there is no need for anyone to become fulltime members. A simple donation to any legitimate and recognized group will already demonstrate your willingness to support the cause of the movement. Cash donations or support in terms of fund raising campaigns promoted by these groups are few methods to extend your involvement. With your donation, you might not be saving others but yourself.
A well known symbol worn by many breast cancer survivors is the “Pink Ribbon” which signifies the entire cause of all related organizations- to provide awareness to those who are yet to know the illness. Every October, these awareness organizations, joined by their members, demonstrate their cause by recognizing the stuggle against this horrible disease.
