lymphedema arm sleeveLymphedema sleeves offer patients another welcome option in managing their symptoms. Many people find that a Lymphedema Sleeve provides relief when other methods are just not enough to control swelling and discomfort.

There are many types of lymphedema sleeves available to suit your personal needs and preferences.

One of the more common types of lymphedema sleeve is made from nylon, similar to sheer support panty hose. These offer a medium level of compression that is suitable for mild to moderate lymphedema. They typically are worn from the upper arm to the wrist. Many people find these to be a suitable option because they are discreet and often nearly unnoticeable.

If you prefer natural fibers, you may wish to try a silk sleeve lymphedema. Silk sleeves offer compression levels equivalent to their nylon counterparts. Sleeves typically need to be replaced every six months in order to maintain their levels of compression, fit and effectiveness. Silk sleeves tend to last a bit longer and are less prone to stretching out.

Another option for Lymphedema arm sleeves is microfiber. Microfiber is an excellent fabric especially for an item that will be worn for extended periods. It has moisture wicking abilities to help keep you cool and comfortable. These can be found in models with moderate to strong compression. They are somewhat bulkier than their nylon counterparts, but many people find them to be quite comfortable and a nice alternative for when a bit more compression is needed. They are available in a wide array of colors and have a sporty rather than medical look.

Also available is the lymphedema hand compression sleeve. These look like gloves and are very effective in decreasing swelling in the hands and fingers.
